Hunter Westbrook, elder

I am a native Austinite born here in the summer 1969 of Scotch-Irish descent to Buck & Carole Westbrook – and have one younger brother (Colt). I have been happily married to my beautiful wife Leigh for 13 years. We have one son named Kaden who is 8 years old. I currently work for a hi-end computing manufacturer as a Federal Territory Manager. |
I was raised in a Christian household with Godly parents. They taught me that Christianity was about a personal relationship with God through his Son, Jesus Christ. Even though I became a Christian during high school, I spent the next few years in college (Tx State Univ) wrestling with the worldly view of what fun & fellowship was truly about. Wanting to get away from the corruptible environment that I was in, I felt the Lord leading me back to Austin and to a group of people that were dealing with similar struggles. Once I was back in a Spirit-filled church, God began to show me that he had a bigger purpose for my life. As I began to read his Word, the Holy Spirit revealed that I had spiritual gifts that He wanted me to use in a local body of believers. He started to mold and shape my path in areas where He wanted me to serve. These have included counseling at youth camps, serving in children’s ministries, leading Bible study groups, missions, benevolence, and being the spiritual leader of our household.
Leigh and I have been members of the Hill Country Bible family for almost 5 years now. Our last couple of years here at HCBCRR have been a great blessing. We have made several life-long friends and have been privileged to serve in many areas including: children’s ministry, on Mexico mission trips, at Rock the Rock and on the finance team. Currently, we are enjoying shepherding our 4th ReaLife Group. It is truly a blessing and honor to be an Elder in this church family.
