It's my first visit, what should I expect?

What does the worship service look like?

We meet at the Chasco Family YMCA in Round Rock, so all of our equipment is portable and is set up early Sunday mornings.  When you enter the building, you will see lots of people who are ready and willing to help you find your way to the gym where our services happen.  Look around, you'll find someone wearing a badge that says ASK ME! and they will show you down the hall.

We have two identical services that start at 9:00am and 10:45am, and each service is approximately 80 minutes long.  Music plays a big role in our time together.  You can expect 30 minutes or so of singing, and most of that while standing.  Some people clap and move with the music, and often you'll see people raise their hands.

Our pastor will speak for anywhere from 30 to 40 minutes.  His talks are always directly from the Bible and will challenge you in some way.  During the service we will also receive an offering from the people who regularly attend.  Money is not given as an admission fee into church, and we take care to make sure that anyone visiting knows that placing money in the offering plate is not an obligation.

Dress is casual.  Our pastor usually gives his talk wearing jeans, and he's been known to speak in a pair of sandals during the summer.

What about my kids?

We have programs designed for children of all ages during both services.  Pre-school and elementary kids are signed in at the registration desk found in the lobby at the Y.  They will participate in activities prepared with them in mind while you experience the worship service.  At registration you and your children will be given security badges and a number that will be used on the overhead screens in the worship service if your child needs you before the end of service.  All of our children's program volunteers have a clear background check on file and have been trained in the safest and most secure way to interact with classrooms of children.

Junior High students in 6th, 7th and 8th grades meet upstairs at the YMCA during the 10:45am worship service.

High School students in 9th - 12th grades meet on Sunday afternoons at the YMCA from 4pm to 6pm.  We hope these students will enjoy the worship service with you on Sunday morning.
