Keith Ferguson, Lead Pastor

KeithPic - Keith's Staff Picture

Keith grew up in the Dallas area (Garland), and did his undergraduate work in mechanical engineering at Baylor University. God invaded his life, opened his eyes, and led him to faith in Christ as a high-school student.  Keith first felt called to ministry during his time at Baylor and began his ministry career in student ministry. He married his high-school sweetheart, Barie, before their senior year of college, and then after graduation, they moved to Ovilla, TX, just south of Dallas, to work in student ministry and study at Dallas Seminary. Keith completed his Th.M. in 2005 and moved to the Austin area to complete Hill Country Bible Church's church-planting residency program. After completing this training, he became the leade pastor of HCBC Round Rock North in September of 2007. Keith and his wife, Barie, have three sons (Kade - 5, Kamden - 3, and Kale - 2) and one daughter (Brynlee - 1).

About Keith:
Favorite Movie: Anything WWII, probably Saving Private Ryan; more recently, probably Gran Turino, for its picture of sacrificial love
Favorite Music: So hard to decide, probably either John Mayer or David Crowder
Favorite Book: This is so hard for me since I love to read, but I would have to say that Desiring God by Piper and Bible Doctrine by Grudem have been foundational for me.  I also love history and biography, so I would recommend anything in the Oxford History of US, especially McPherson's Battle Cry of Freedom.
Favorite Website:  I split my time between washingtonpost.com and bloglines.com (which compiles all 40 blogs that I follow into one website to read).
Favorite Hobbies: I'm getting more into running, but mostly I love to read, watch movies, play sports, watch baseball (Go Rangers!) and anything else that includes my awesome family and friends.
Favorite Place To Travel: I love going somewhere in the summer with my whole family (we usually stay by the lake) and going somewhere with just my wife in the fall.  Thinking over my whole life, I enjoyed going to Boston the most.
Favorite Heroes of Faith:  I have been inspired by the lives of John Calvin, Hudson Taylor, and Jonathan Edwards to love God, preach the gospel, and live by radical faith.  In modern times, I've really learned a lot from watching the lives of Horace Heathman and Danny Box.
Favorite Passage:  Jeremiah 9:23-24 - "This is what the Lord says, 'Let not the wise man boast in his wisdom, the strong man boast of his strength, or the rich man boast of his riches, but let him who boasts, boast about this, that he understands and knows me, that I am the Lord who exercises kindness, justice, and righteousness of earth, for in these I delight," declares the Lord.
