Worship the King
The desire to experience God in new, authentic ways has brought life to empty, ritualistic forms of worship. But danger lies in trying to form our view of God to fit our desired experience. Many people first seek an experience, and then hope to discover God based on the validity and power of the experience. Christian history & orthodoxy, however, views worship as a response to the person and work of God. We don’t start with our experience and then look for a part of God to stick that experience to.
If the Christmas season teaches us anything, it teaches us that the true God initiates connection with us and in return, we respond to Him. This December, we will journey through the Psalms and discover how we can join the ancient chorus of those who worship the King.
